inner green deal journey
mindfulness based sustainable transformation: inner growth for outer change
The Story of Disconnection
Do you recognize the feeling of being overwhelmed by emotions when you look at the state of the Earth? Climate change, wars, increasing polarization… Sometimes it seems like we are stuck in a story of disconnection – a story where we are detached from the world, from each other, and from ourselves.
Do you also feel there is a need for a new story? A story that brings us closer together and helps us to act collectively, from a place of strength and connection? Some time ago, I personally felt this need and contributed to the creation of Energie VanOns and the Groninger Energy Koepel (GrEK), a cooperative that supports energy collectives in the province of Groningen. Now, I am working on making my house more sustainable.
Why this training?
Research shows that inner qualities – such as how we perceive the world and how we collaborate – are the greatest drivers of change. Yet, we still often rely on external, technical solutions, while the inner skills needed for transformation (such as awareness, insight, connection) remain underemphasized.
If we don’t address the root causes of our behavior – our deepest beliefs, emotions, and habits – how can we move forward?
This training provides a safe space to develop your change-making skills and increase your impact; inner work goes hand in hand with external action. For example, I am currently working on making my house energy-neutral.
What will this training offer you?
After this training, you will be able to:
- Manage climate emotions: Learn how to transform feelings of fear and helplessness into inner peace and decisive action, so you can act more from a place of balance.
- Make choices from your core: Transform your inner values and intentions into concrete actions, so that your mission becomes a reality and not just an ideal.
- Find strength in connection: Discover the support and inspiration that arise from a community of people who, like you, strive for sustainable change.
The content of this training is connected to the Inner Development Goals (IDG), the University of Lund Centre for Sustainability, and the Inner Green Deal (non-profit organization).
Who is this training for?
This training is for anyone who is aware of the challenges we face and sometimes feels overwhelmed by everything happening, while seeking their role in it.
This training offers you a space to find balance, deepen your inner strength, and surround yourself with others who are just as driven as you.
Are you ready to empower your mission and rewrite the story of disconnection into a story of connection and active hope? Then this training is for you!
What does the program involve?
The program consists of 6 interactive workshops of 2.5 hours each, with each module providing space for reflection, conversations, and exercises (for example, mindfulness and compassion exercises).
